Mother's Day

I have fallen in love with orangutans big and small, and they need our help to survive. Many orangutans are orphaned, and this Orangutan Outreach campaign is a way to bring attention to their plight.

Nines

the moon floats
upward
cloud wisps stay still

coats and jackets
people

track lighting
the sonogram
echoes

sound effects

[Instead of sticking to the strict subject matter and structural rules of haiku, I have started experimenting with syllable counts that have no other restrictions. The above are all nine syllables (hence the name Nines), with nothing else in common. Try some.]

More Valentine's Day observations

if you are in love,
every day is Valentine's Day
if you aren't
every day is Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day!

the time was then
the word was love
what was the question?

[This is from my Valentine's Day haibun which I posted earlier. If I had gotten it together to make Valentine's Day cards, this is what they would have said.]
